Innovation

Innovation at Quechua
"The starting point in our innovation process isn't noticing a new product is needed. Our projects always follow a different process, the cornerstone of all product creation at Quechua: user comfort. This is the perfect starting point for our teams, who then identify how they can design products that are different to those our competitors offer, and perfectly suited to the way the human body works in the mountains.
Above all, our teams don't just create innovative products. They develop entire innovative families, offering hardware that is comfortable, technical and practical for our users.
Innovation isn't limited to our products. Quechua has deployed innovation management, which is innovative in itself. Beyond creating and developing ideas within the company, our engineers and product managers work with a network of external partners: leading universities, engineers, experts and laboratories, who provide a new perspective on our products.
This approach, set up 10 years ago, has brought Quechua multiple awards for innovation and design."
Olivier Salom, director of innovation
Birth of a product
"We're always sensitive to our users' needs, and design and adapt our products around them. At Quechua, product creation is a fully integrated process.
The product pre-project phase is the first in the process, it is also one of the most important. From the first idea to drafting of specifications, and including marketing surveys, this phase is the foundation of the product development process.
Next comes product design. Engineers, designers, and subcontractors work alongside the group's industrial management teams on the actual product creation. This results in a prototype, approved through field and lab tests. Mass-production is then launched."

Technical brands
To create new products, our engineers work closely with some of the group's component brands.
-Novadry
Novadry produces waterproof, breathable and windproof components, using specific assembly techniques to provide optimum protection from the weather (wind, snow, rain).
-Stratermic
The aim of Stratermic knits is to guarantee thermal protection that's perfectly adapted to all types of cold and all levels of sports use.
-Equarea
A combination of balance and ventilation. Equarea components convert the unpleasant effects of sweating into feelings of well being.
