Designer
"Design of course, but also find technical solutions and follow the trends "Alexis, product designer for Quechua.
"Designing a product for Quechua is not only a question of product design. Designers intervene in all stages of product development. They work closely with the product manager, the engineers and the merchandiser particularly. Their work includes drawing the products of course, thinking about technical solutions, as well as following trends and coming up with a design language for all activities for which they design products. Designers are not only concerned with looks, especially as Quechua products have one major constraint: answer the needs of a very wide target audience.
A very varied job then, very rewarding, in which products are monitored throughout the whole process since designers visit the production sites. They realise the importance of their work and the consequences a pencil line or a seam has on the production lines.
The range of work to be carried out and the number of products each designer is responsible for (up to a hundred in total: creation, redesign, colour changes...) make it a job with high responsibilities, in which rigour, curiosity and strength of character are necessary."
