The design team works with hikers not associated with Quechua to test, push forward and validate the backpacks.
This label shows that the backpack offers a ventilated back that allows the sweat to evacuate quicker.
The heavy stitching research and development department —partner of Quechua for the research and validation of components and assembling —conducted tests simulating backpack ageing. These tests were for the component, the stitches and the finished product. Their results allow Quechua to guaranty tested backpacks for 10 years starting at the buying date written on the receipt.
Matthieu
Product engineer
As an engineer I guaranty the link between the conception and the production.
In upstream I receive the brief of the product chief stating the functionalities and requirement of the future backpack. Depending of the state of conception I work with the product chief, the designer, the model maker, the production director and the partner of the production factory.
In order to guaranty the resistance of backpacks we are doing tests first on the components.
Associated with the production standard I obtained the final resistance of the product.
Then, I do laboratory tests on the finished products simulating the repeated movement during hick and then in the mountains.
Hikers have to carry all of their equipment during physical effort. That’s why we design our products so that they are lighter and lighter and ensure greater freedom of movement.
