FRESH & BLACK TECHNOLOGY

HEAT REDUCTION & DARKNESS

DARKNESS
With a combination of specific materials, our patented Fresh & Black technology guarantees you 99% darkness, even in daylight.

HEAT REDUCTION / VENTILATION
It also means you stay cool even in sunlight thanks to two elements:
- The UV filter in its fabric with a UPF between 30 and 50 depending on the tents
- The ventilation system allows air to circulate efficiently and stops the natural process of condensation

Durability

EFFECTIVE PROTECTION AGAINST BAD WEATHER: RAIN, DEW, MOISTURE, WIND.

At Quechua, all our tents are created and designed in our design centre in France, at the foot of Mont Blanc.
On the ground and in all weathers, our design team are closest to you, campers. Looking and listening helps us develop many prototypes that we test and improve until we get to a durable product as close as possible to your expectations.

Waterproofness

"All our Quechua tents are test on the ground and in the laboratory. They must resist a minimum equivalent to tropical rain of 200 L/hr for 4 hours.
The flysheet has a waterproof coating and taped seams with heat-bonded strips. The tents have vents and breathable fabric bedrooms to avoid condensation.
Finally, we strengthen the groundsheet coating to avoid possible water penetration."

RESISTANT TO WIND

"We test all our tents in a wind tunnel on a turntable to expose each side. A properly pitched tent with all guy ropes fitted must remain habitable in wind speeds up minimum to 50 km/hr near the ground (Force 6)."

OUR COMMITMENT TO MORE ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY TENTS

Textile dyeing requires a lot of water but also produces waste water from the dye baths.

To reduce this environmental impact and our water consumption, we use several technologies during the manufacture of Quechua tents:
- Bi-ton (mass pigmentation of one thread in every two)
- Dope dyed (colour is directly added when the yarn is produced)
- Greige (undyed fabric)
