How to camp comfortably in a tent Discover our camping tips to make you feel at home, in the middle of nature!

Are you serious about camping? We get it, we are too! And because "sleeping outdoors" can be "comfortable"... We offer you our tips and our best products to camp comfortably, almost like at home: to you the dolce vita version of camping that you deserve. Follow the guide, we’ll show you around!

1 - Comfortable camping starts with a “3-room apartment”: camping in a “3-room tent” with 2 bedrooms and a living room

The camping world has come a long way from the minimalist one-room Canadian tent where, as children, we slept in a row, crossing our fingers not to find ourselves between a snorer and a restless sleeper. Now, camping means everyone has their own room (or almost, depending on the size of your tribe).

Whether you’re with friends or family, there’s no need to draw straws and end up stuck in the middle, the worst place if you have a craving in the middle of the night.

For good camping, we recommend tents with a large living room, with enough height to stand upright, and two bedrooms (or a modular room that can be divided into two). Also pay attention to the fabric of the tent: it must be technical to protect you from wind and rain (the base), but also to protect you from UVs, noise and heat.

But don’t forget one important aspect of a tent: its assembly and disassembly (possible source of tension within your group). No one has invented the palatial “2 Seconds” tent yet. On the other hand, we have designed Air Seconds inflatable family tents that are ready in no time. We offer two tents that meet these criteria: lthe inflatable camping tent - AIRSECONDS 4.2 POLYCOTTON and the inflatable camping tent - AIRSECONDS 4.1 Fresh & Black.

If you want to know more about these comfortable tents, read on. We give you their little secrets. If you prefer not to wait and discover our entire range of inflatable tents, it's here:

Good camping with the 4 person inflatable polycotton tent: the easy-to-fit, noise-proof camping tent

Getting away with friends sometimes means going away with a couple and being the single one of the lot. No one wants to be a third wheel. With 2 rooms, everyone is at home! No more people who can’t sleep because of their default roommates and prefer to sleep in the car.

For parents, you can even modulate the two rooms and make one if you decide to go as a couple and leave the children with their grandparents (or with someone else, you do as you wish). The XXL room is yours during your romantic getaway!

We have even thought about sound insulation, with a Polycotton tent, which dampens noise. It is also a more breathable fabric than a traditional polyester tent, with greater UV resistance and durability. What do the people want?

Finally, the best thing about our AIRSECONDS 4.2 Polycoton tent is that, as the name suggests, it is an inflatable tent. You can assemble it quickly and easily: a real little nomadic bouncy castle.

Camping well with the fresh & black inflatable tent: the tent for cool mornings in bed

Comfort means sleeping in. If you want to camp well in a tent and be able to hang out in bed after sunrise, you can opt for a Fresh & Black tent. The “Black” fabric guarantees 99% darkness in the rooms, leaving you in almost complete darkness! This is a sweet way to stay dozing away while the rest of the campsite is awake at dawn.

You’re going to tell me that it's the heat that tends to wake you up much too early? Good news, with our Fresh & Black tents, you will also gain in thermal comfort. The “Fresh” fabric helps to reduce the temperature inside the tent. No need to invest in portable air-conditioning, our technical fabric will provide you with “cool” mornings.

2 - Comfortable camping also means comfortable sleeping

After the age of thirty (and sometimes even before), people start investing in quality bedding and ultimately in quality sleep. This also applies to camping bedding! And although it’s impossible to take your bed everywhere, you can choose a pillow, a mattress and a base in an inflatable range, as well as a duvet, which will combine comfort, lightness and compactness.

In the family of discomfort factors we could do without, there’s the big rock under your mattress (ranked just behind the rock in your shoe during a hike). To avoid having your mattress on the floor of your tent, we recommend a special camping bed base (which fortunately has nothing to do with the camp beds of yesteryear). Have you insulated your tent floor well and it is extraordinarily flat? Do you think you can lay your mattress on the floor? You should know that while your mattress takes care of your comfort by adapting to the curves of your body, your base is there to cushion your movements during the night. These two elements work very well together. No need to change a winning formula.

The comfortable camping tip: Choose an inflatable model which is more compact, lighter and very comfortable. We have designed the perfect inflatable single bed base for you, which can be combined with a second identical base to support a double mattress. You will sleep on a cloud, both solo and in pairs.

Now, to go camping, you need a mattress. To get a five-star sleep and avoid turning into a princess with a pea, we advise you to choose a thick air mattress with a material that is soft to the touch and to the ear.

The comfortable camping tip: Opt for a self-inflating model that does not require a pump or elbow grease. You can finish inflating the mattress by mouth to perfect the comfort of the mattress, if you are in the “firm”, “medium-firm” or “soft” mattress team.

You’ll wonder how you managed all those years without one, following unrestful nights with intense days of hiking.

We are like you, we would like to take our pillow everywhere (in the metro, at work and not only at bedtime!). But taking several pillows with you on top of all the rest of your top comfort camping gear starts to take up space. So, unless you're buying a full-size trailer, we advise you to opt for a special memory foam camping pillow with a cover in a soft material. The memory foam will adapt to you whether you sleep on your back or on your side. It’s still more comfortable than a traditional inflatable pillow or using jumpers as a makeshift pillow, isn't it?

The comfortable camping tip: Choose a pillow designed for camping that is the right size and does not take up the entire width of your mattress.

And here is the essential duvet for camping! You think you’ve got it all figured out, but then you discover a new level of comfort with cotton-covered sleeping bags. No more squeaking polyester. Slip into a comfortable sleeping bag that feels good to the touch.

The comfortable camping tip: Opt for a fully unzippable duvet model that converts into a duvet, especially for people who use the “one arm and one leg out, one arm and one leg in” body regulation technique.

The little bonus: Now that you have a proper room, we advise you to add one or two bedside tables. Why is it really useful? We all remember a time when we accidentally damaged an item when we turned over too quickly in our sleep. Indeed, it would be a shame to bang against a book or, worse, to stand up with your left foot and unintentionally step on your phone and crack the screen. We have also thought about important papers that should not be damaged or lost.

The comfortable camping tip: Because it is also a way of having your own little space, you should each have a night table.

You won’t want to miss your new camping room. Your bags under your eyes will say thank you and go pack their bags: you will finally return from camping really rested!

So, are you looking forward to sleeping like a groundhog? But before going to bed, there is drink, dinner, games and all-important discussions to be had against the backdrop of cricket noises. And for that, we suggest you sit comfortably in one of our camping chairs:

3 - Finally, comfortable camping is practical furniture. but what should you take for a really comfortable camping?

Let's not forget the most important ‘room’, the heart of the house... well, your campsite: the kitchen! But what exactly should you take for a campsite? To camp comfortably, we advise you to invest in furniture that is sturdy, compact and welcoming.

For the table, choose furniture that invites conviviality: such as a square or hexagonal table, which will allow everyone to participate in conversations, whereas a rectangular table tends to exclude people sitting at the ends. The advantage of our hexagonal table is that you can seat 6 people without compromising on conviviality or comfort.

Who’s never wanted, at the end of a good meal or after an intense day of hiking, to let themselves go in a chair and recline it, like a business class airline seat? Now it’s possible with our compact and comfortable multi-positional camping chair. The benefits: Its adjustable headrest and its ventilated back, to take a nap without ending up with your back stuck to the backrest when you wake up. This chair could almost be your new telecommuting office chair...

And to ensure that mealtimes are moments of sharing with family and friends, we also advise you to add to your nomadic furniture a piece of camping furniture around which young and old can prepare the meal, discuss, exchange ideas and, when the time comes, wash the dishes (but always in a good mood). We've put together a compact, multi-functional kitchen unit with a large worktop, storage space, overhead hooks, a waste bin holder and an integrated sink! What do we like best about it? Rain cover so you can leave it outside. We have to admit that this is pretty close to a nomadic full kitchen!

CAMPING COMFORTABLY: OUR TIPS FOR CAMPING LIKE A HOME AWAY FROM HOME

As a bonus: As you will have noticed, there is a central element missing from our “nomadic kitchen”: a fridge. For bottles, there is always the technique of tying them securely (very securely) and leaving them in the local lake or river to cool. But for everything else, we offer a cooler like no other: our flexible 35-litre cooler that keeps you cool for 17 hours (from morning to night, that is) without ice packs. It’s extremely compact and deflates to take up a minimum of space when not in use!

As you can see, the best way to camp comfortably is to opt for compact furniture, inflatables, technical materials and, above all, a spacious tent that is easy to pitch. Your campsite will feel like a comfortable second home! Your neighbours on the campsite will envy you and will only want one thing: be invited for an aperitif or a barbecue to take a quick look inside your palace.
